Commissioner Picks: Week #1

It's been 207 days since the Super Bowl. The NFL season is about to start and so is season number one of the Gridiron Dynasty league. This will be a short feature each week where the commissioner picks who he thinks is going to win each matchup along with a short explanation.

Week #1 is here -- let's get started!

Burrows Before Hoes vs Team Ashley

Winner: Burrows Before Hoes

This is a very even matchup heading into week 1, but the nod goes to Joe Burrow and Brock Bowers who will ultimately push Burrows Before Hoes into the week 1 win column. You didn't think I was going to pick against myself in week 1, right?

Team Zack vs Team Michelle

Winner: Team Zack

Lamar Jackson may score the most points in this week 1 matchup, but the running back matchup is what I'm most interested in. Ashton Jeanty will take the field as the Raiders RB1, but I'll take the more experiened Achane. Team Zack edges out Team Michelle in a close one.

Team Bowen vs Ceedee's TD's

Winner: Team Bowen

This pick is based in pure pettiness. I'm picking Team Bowen in an upset. While Ceedee Lamb may put up big numbers in the Thursday night opener, Malik Nabers will close the gap in the early games before Josh Allen puts up 300+ yards and 3 TDs in the Sunday night game to put Team Bowen on top. Let's be honest though, it was always going to be whoever was playing Lucky in week 1.

Team Jeremy vs Who'sAfraidOfKittleOldme

Winner: Who'sAfraidOfKittleOldMe

Rule 1 in week 1 is you don't pick against your wife. This matchup against Jeremy made that choice even easier. Jalen Hurts. Big. I think Gibbs will have a strong showing for Team Jeremy, but Swift and Bijan both find the endzone multiple times to make this one a blowout. More pettiness? Probably.

Team Andrew vs Baisden's Bungals

Winner: Baisden's Bungal's

Chargers vs Chiefs. Herbert vs Mahomes. Give me Mahomes to win this battle. Barkley will put up good stats for Team Andrew, but it won't be enough in the end. Keep an eye on the Bengals defense vs the Browns and come Tuesday morning, Baisden's Bungals will be 1-0 and Team Andrew will be left asking what could I have done differently?
